Insulating Weld Straps

• Prevent expansion during weld process • Shorten fusion time by reducing heat loss • Allows coupling to shrink during cooling - reduces stress on weld during cooling period • Does not require tightening or intervention from the operator • Will be loose after cooling • Can be removed after cooling - not a structural element of the finished weld

• Extra material at areas of maximum load • Thinner wall above fusion zone to enhance gap closing and weld quality • Customised profile at weld zones to improve weld quality • Long insertion depths allow longer cold zones to help prevent melt out

Dual Weld Zones

• Can be welded simultaneously or in sequence • Allows flexibility with installation procedures

Rising Pin Weld Indicator

• Located in the middle of strap buckles • Tapered design prevents melt out • Not an indicator of weld quality

Wires Embedded In Coupling

• Prevents damage during assembly • Thick melt layer to help close large gaps • Ensures even heat transfer during welding • Oxygen free environment around the heating wire all the way up to gap closure • Internal machining after wire imbedding to control internal diameter and provide a smooth welding surface

Restraint Clamp and Pulling Shoes

Pulling shoes aid in positioning the coupler anywhere along the pipe length. Restraint clamp then restrains the pipe/coupler assembly during fusion. See page 137
