Weld Integrity Test

• A test port is incorporated into the saddle to enable a pressure test before cutting into the pipe

Correct Clamp Indicator Stamp

• Clamping Tool leaves a mark on the saddle to show if the correct clamps have been used at the correct tension

Embedded Heating Wires

• Embedded heating wires limit the risk of physical damage to the wire • Embedded wires are protected from enviroment during storage • Instant heat transfer between coil and PE for fast gap closure • Single welding time for ambient temperatures between -10°C to +45°C • No temperature compensation required

Correct Tightening Torque Indicator

• Correct tightening by either a torque indicator built-in into the straps or a torque wrench

Full Bore Outlet

• Better flow characteristics

Large Fusion Areas

• The welding zone reaches up to the internal bore of the outlet • Ensures area of highest stress in the fitting occurs at the strongest part of the electrofusion weld • Better durability under hard operating conditions

Installation Tools

PLASSON Large Bore Electrofusion Saddles with offtakes 180-400mm

Rounding Ring

PN16 saddles with branches 180-250mm use a re-rounding ring to maintain the circular shape of the offtake during fusion. See page 135

Bar

PN16 saddles with branches 280-400mm and saddles with 225 branches, use a bar across the offtake to apply an even force over the fusion zone. See page 141

Core Cutter

Especially designed core cutters enable cutting through thick and thin wall pipe. See page 141

Hand-Held Drill

The core cutter can be operated with a hand-held drill and stabilizing arm up to and including 250mm offtakes. See page 142

Torque Wrench

A torque wrench applies high tension to the straps and force to the clamp plate. See page 140

Drill

A drill support is necessary when core cutting offtakes above 250mm. See page 142
