THE LOCKDOWN BLANKET As this is the last newsletter, I am sending in this picture of a blanket I made during the long months of lockdown. As I am in my last years, this is the last one I will crochet this big. Last of all thank you everyone, contributors and staff who took part. I will miss this newsletter. THE COLOURS OF THE SEASONS When I think about colours I think about what I love the most… It’s the season of the mists The mellow fruitfulness And the dazzling array of the warm glowing reds, golds and yellows that light up my garden and the countryside. Beauty is all around us Just open your eyes… The afterglow of spring, Then summer The colours linger well into Autumn If you look closely you’ll find Late displays of flowers Which have survived the wind and rain There are breath-taking displays All around everywhere you turn The trees and the shrubs put on a dramatic show of colours The last rays of sunshine And the promise of everything being renewed next year… Margaret MacCallum Steele

I am now back at Art Factory on Tuesdays, Project Ability on Wednesdays and enjoyed doing the newsletters

Drawing of red squirrel that's going for someone and a picture of Suga from BTS. Elaine Fisher

Thanks for your newsletter, it kept me interested in the rest of the world during lockdown. Betty Cosgrove

I’ve been going here and there – went to Troon, Balloch, Helensburgh and Largs – it was very nice. It is a shame the newsletter is stopping for the foreseeable future but I am enjoying meeting in the flesh. I don’t know what to add apart from maybe… Lennon + McCartney – I think they knew me in a past life when they wrote Eleanor Rigby – a beautiful song about loneliness. Susan Milligan

What did Batman’s mum call down to him when the evening meal was ready? Din ner din ner din ner din ner BATMAN!

What happens when Iron Man teams up with the Silver Surfer? They became alloys! Rob Haughie

CHILDREN’S LAUGHTER Can you think of anything quite as joyful as the laughter of children, playing hide and seek? These are such happy sounds. The parks, the countryside, the woods or the seaside rung once again with shrieks of delight, such very happy sounds, the sound of joy. The sounds of children who love racing through the wood, weaving in and out of the many trees of shady nooks, looking for fairies. The crunch of leaves on the forest floor and the snapping of fallen twigs. The smell of the trees. Perhaps the beach is the place they’ll be, as they set up the picnic, helping their parents gleefully. The smell of the sea and the call of the waves and the early sunshine. They’ll be running around the sand dunes or splashing in the sea. Their cries of delight echoing the calls of the seagulls, flying high up in the beautiful blue sky. Margaret MacCallum Steele
