Project Ability are pleased to present a large painting installation by the Aspire artists at their annual Platform show; a dynamic and vibrant body of work encompassing a vast range of approaches to painting, subject matter and techniques. A significant part of Project Ability’s workshop programme, the exhibition combines artwork created throughout the year with the installation immersing viewers on Platform’s purposebuilt viewing wall.

Platform Commission

Platform have invited Project Ability artist Jonathan McKinstry to create a commissioned artwork inspired by Platform and the theme of this year’s HEADSPACE 2015 festival — Passion. The artwork will be created over a period of time during September and October here at Platform. The completed artwork will be unveiled at the Headspace event on Sunday 25 October 2015. This winter Platform hosts a challenging exhibition Aboot this nthat nthe nix thing that responds to our time and place. Through the use of drawing, painting and photography the artists Martin Fowler, Chad McCail and Billy McCall will use Platform as a meeting place, within which an exhibition of art will provoke discussions of relationships between the individual, the local community and the state. The artworks are coupled with talks, events and a learning intervention through an artist’s library.


PLATFORM TO HEALTH Platform to Health is an exciting year-round arts, health and wellbeing programme which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of those who participate.

BY BUS It couldn’t be easier with Stagecoach X19 and First Bus 19, 38, 41, 43 and 60/60A. BY TRAIN From Queen Street take the lower level east bound to Easterhouse. From Edinburgh get the Helensburgh train on the Airdrie to Bathgate line. Platform is around a 15 minute walk from the station. FREE CAR PARK Entry is via Westerhouse Road and is easy to find – just look for the wind turbine. Further parking at Shandwick Square.
