Iridescence, beaches washed by cool sea foam, shells, sinuous jellyfish and the colours of light enrich the new Ocean collection by Luxury Carpet Studio, the world leader in the artisanal production of bespoke carpets with Italian design. Elisabetta Santoro, designer and creator of the Earth, Kyoto, Marrakech and Colorful collections, has given evocative images of the marine habitat a stylistic and aesthetic reinterpretation, preparing their metamorphosis into soft carpets. In the yacht-building world, hand-made rugs and carpets provide guests with a soft yet durable surface on which they can walk around barefoot. The materials are all superb quality – silk, a virgin wool and silk blend, merino wool, bamboo and new-generation recycled yarns with a low environmental impact. ECONYL®, an innovative ecological synthetic yarn, is based on the re-use of discarded fishing nets and plastic waste. The creations by Luxury Carpet Studio, available in wall-to-wall or freestanding versions, are designed for yacht interiors – yachts have now become luxury floating residences, showcases for the latest, most sophisticated and elegant furnishing trends. In this setting the Ocean Collection is not only a furnishing component, it’s also a decorative element, available in a variety of models - Sea is a descriptive interpretation of a wave-washed beach, evoking the experience of walking along the shore, the Waves and Atollo models recall dunes and surf with three-dimensional effects, accentuated by gradually fading colours and an embossing technique where special artisanal skills create surfaces in relief. The models share the same colours and materials. The extensive colour range also presented a technical challenge and required tests on over 200 colours.
