Especially in luxury settings, whether residences, hotels or yachts, design and beauty are fundamental elements given the same importance as functionality and technology. But switch plates by PLH don’t stop at aesthetics and functionality – the fertile, exuberant mind of company owner Enrico Corelli drives him to seek out new ground, and at the last Salone del Mobile the company presented PHL Belcanto, a sound system that integrates with switches and sockets. As Enrico Corelli says, “Recently I’ve begun to want to “play” with hearing, creating a relationship between light and music, linking the physical interaction with the switch plate with the emission of a sound, of one or more melodies. Not a control that activates a transmitter remotely, but a plate that also generates sound, that itself makes a sound, perhaps expressing the user’s musical desires”.

In the early 2020s he had the idea of associating the Neo plate with a loudspeaker, amplifier and subwoofer, choosing as partner Outline, a company specialising in creating professional audio systems and digital

solutions for sound processing, especially for big events. After intensive research aimed at miniaturising the components to fit them inside a volume of 8x8x8 cm, providing high quality sound without disturbing anyone in a neighbouring space, the company can offer two solutions featuring the Mono, MakeUp, Skin and Keyboard lines, which communicate with the acoustic product through an OEM-type system (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and a speaker protected by a small coloured grille and integrated with a subwoofer and amplifier. The other solution comes in the form of a kit based on the Mono design, with an amplifier with controls and an induction charging system, two loudspeakers or rather two mid-tweeters with stand and with an Outline subwoofer, which has a strong aesthetic impact and features a contoured handle for transport. The two solutions, entirely personalisable, are intended to provide a stylish, embracing sensory experience for a wide range of sectors –private, contract, hotels and yachts.
