he 2023 Monaco Yacht Show brought the debut of Feadship’s 12th Concept Design. Dunes is a spectacular 83m clad in flowing lines by De Voogt. A major stride towards Feadship’s Net-Zero superyachts target, Dunes eliminates up to 95 per cent of the potential negative environmental factors associated with running a superyacht compared to today’s minimum environmental regulations (as assessed by the comprehensive YETI tool). “From customer input, we thought the ‘envelope’ should contain six guest staterooms, plus a spa area, a beach club, an owner’s private deck and a pool,” says designer Thijs Orth. The knock-on effect of moving the engine room to a more forward area was a new layout in which beautiful lower deck guest suites connect to a gorgeous beach club, a watersports platform, and the pool above. The superstructure is asymmetrical with almost no straight lines. Dunes’ undulating curves provide the perfect backdrop for her adaptable, multi-purpose spaces, endless views, and mix of open-plan areas and cosy, intimate nooks. Her nature-inspired design exudes a sense of peace and calm too. Dunes is teak-free: instead her decks shimmer with millions of tiny glass or stone chips sealed in a transparent aliphatic polyurethane resin. www.feadship.nl
