A
fter their recent first collaboration on an eagerly-awaited catamaran, automotive
legend Pininfarina and yacht design supremo Fulvio De Simoni revealed at Monaco that they are now working on an innovative new research project. The X2, EXplore X Experience will put the individual at the heart of the onboard experience and break down the barriers between the sector’s conventional categories. The yacht will offer an exclusive backdrop for both exploration and conviviality whilst also unleashing eye-watering performance. In short, this will be a seamless melding of Pininfarina and De Simoni Yacht Design’s complementary skillsets with nods to both automotive and contemporary architecture bringing a sense of freshness and innovation to the nautical project. Both Simoni and Pininfarina’s Chief Creative Officer expressed their excitement about this new approach to giving owners and yards what they want in today’s world. Pininfarina also brought along a scale model of the radical Oceanco Kairos, its first collaboration with Oceanco, and Lateral Naval Architects. pininfarina.it
