FABIANI YACHT MY 77’
Already under construction, this model is the first in a series of yachts between 62 and 101 feet in length. They are based on innovation, safety, comfort and above all respect for the environment and energy saving, as shown by the retractable solar panel arrays they are equipped with by Samuela Urbini

questions to Maurizio Fabiani Ceo Fabiani Yachts What stage have you reached in the construction of your first yacht, the MY 77’ hybrid? Work is proceeding on non-stop, almost every day. The hull is ready and work on the superstructure has begun. It’s entirely aluminium, like the hull. Then we’ll move on to the construction of the patented stern platform. The two diesel engines (a pair of Man 12 V – 1900 CV units), drive shaft and props have already arrived at the yard, and everything needed for the electrical propulsion – the electric motor, batteries and electric panels – is on order. We’re beginning the pre-fitting of the engine room, building the bases for the motors and mechanisms, and preparing the tubing and electrical cable ducts. When is work set to end? Given the construction complexity of what is our first model it’s hard to say with any certainty, but I’ll stick my neck out and say that it could be completed within the space of a year, more or less. Can the yacht be personalised? Its construction leaves room for the owner to be involved, to adapt the yacht for his personal use. The interiors are totally customisable. How is the interior layout structured? We see it as comprising three or four cabins with bathroom, a saloon with sofas and the TV area aft, a well-equipped kitchen with dining area in a scenic position forward and a large sunpad at the bow that can be transformed into a sofa, with a table. The helm station is on the flybridge and features climate control and has opening windows. The flybridge is fully equipped, the cockpit is furnished with table and chairs and there’s a cabin for two crew with small galley and bathroom, plus a garage. The large windows mean the main deck is full of light. What is your growth strategy? For a relatively young yard like ours, we’ve concentrated first of all on putting together a sufficiently wide range, which at the moment comprises models from 19 to 29 metres in length, in the distinctive dual versions with classic or hybrid formats. We’ve made our name by participating in the main boat shows and this year, too, we’ve been present at Monaco, Cannes and Genoa, where we also presented our yachts in scale model form. This helps us communicate the technical aspects of our offer more effectively, as it’s often hard to put them across using words alone.
