HELPING HAND PROGRAM Do you or someone you know need assistance taking garbage and recycling carts to the curb on collection days? You may contact the Solid Waste division at 254.298.5725 to verify eligibility.

LANDFILL Temple residents receive one free disposal per month of a pickup load or less of general household waste. Bring your current water utility bill showing your residential garbage rate to use this service. This does not include any type of remodeling, demolition, building or roofing materials or anything more than a pickup load.

There are several private schools located in Temple, but also Temple residents can choose between 4 different school districts, depending on where in the community you reside. All four districts offer their own distinct characteristics. You cannot go wrong choosing Temple as a place to raise your family.

Temple ISD serves 8,600 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Temple ISD schools have rich offerings in advanced academics, athletics, Career & Technical programs, fine arts, foreign languages, and technology. The district has eight elementary campuses, three middle schools, one high school, one early childhood campus, and two alternative campuses.

Belton ISD is a fastgrowth district in Central Texas with about 12,600 students in pre-K through 12th grade. Belton ISD has earned a reputation for academic excellence, innovative programs and an abundance of extracurricular opportunities. The district anticipates reaching an enrollment of more than 16,000 students by 2030.

Academy ISD, which serves southeast Temple, is a fastgrowth district with more than 500 students, K-12. The district boasts a 98 percent graduation rate and a student to teacher ratio of 15:1. Academy ISD aims to foster a positive culture that motivates students to learn behaviors, skills, and knowledge necessary for academic, professional, and social success in a global society.

Troy ISD serves approximately 1,550 students in the northern most portion of Temple. Four campuses serve students in early childhood through 12th grade. A continued improvement in curriculum, a focus on teaching and modeling ethical behavior, and increasing parent involvement are how Troy ISD provides a caring and challenging environment for all Troy ISD students.

For more information about the locations and their schedules visit templeparks.com LION’S JUNCTION FAMILY WATERPARK This waterpark boasts amenities including a lazy river, three story water slides, splash zone, splash pad, swimming pool with a diving board, aqua climb wall, lounge areas, and snack shack concession stand.

BELTON LAKE More than 12,000 acres located on the Leon River. Amenities include boating, fishing, swimming, camping, picnicking, hunting and lakeside marina.

MILLER SPRINGS NATURE CENTER A 260-acre scenic natural area located between the Leon River and 110-foot-high bluffs, immediately east of the Lake Belton Dam.

CHALK RIDGE FALLS PARK A 3.1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Temple that features a waterfall and suspension bridge and is appropriate for all skill levels.

MOTHER NEFF STATE PARK Along a scenic stretch of the Leon River lies the 259-acre Mother Neff State Park, one of Texas’ oldest state parks. Isabella Neff donated the original six acres for the park in 1921 and it now includes camping, hiking, birding, and picnicking.

STILLHOUSE HOLLOW LAKE Located a short 15-minute drive from Temple and with more than 58 miles of shoreline, this lake area features boating, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, camping, picnicking, nature trails, birding, and lakeside marina.
