Sunscreen in Winter?
That’s right! As of now, weather forecasts are predicting a very mild and warm winter for Central Texas. While it might feel like we’ve escaped the cold, the winter sun can still pose significant UV risks, even on the most overcast days
UV rays don't take a break just because the seasons change, which is why sunscreen remains an important part of your daily routine year-round. Regular use can help prevent skin damage, premature aging, and reduce your risk of developing skin cancer ??
Prevention Tips:
✔ Daily Application: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher every morning even when it’s cloudy, as UV rays can penetrate clouds
✔ Protective Clothing: Remember to wear hats, sunglasses, and long sleeves to create an added barrier against harmful UV rays
✔ Moisturizing Benefits: Winter weather can leave skin dry and vulnerable Many sunscreens offer hydrating properties to lock in moisture and protect your skin from cold, dry air
Why this matters for all City of Temple Employees:
Consistent sun protection is vital whether you’re working outdoors or commuting to and from work Protecting your skin from UV damage isn’t just a personal choice it’s part of taking care of yourself and staying healthy. Incorporate these easy tips into your daily routine to ensure you ' re ready for the season ahead!
Stay safe, stay protected, and enjoy a bright, healthy winter!
