MD LIVE MDLIVE lets you visit independently contracted MDLIVE board-certified doctors when you may need care. They may help treat non-emergency medical and pediatric health issues. Plus, they may even write and send prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy (when appropriate). LEARN MORE
SAFETY TALK Some emergencies will require professional medical attention, but first aid can address many common workplace injuries. Do your employees know what hazardous situations—emergency or otherwise—might arise in the workplace? How many employees are trained in CPR or first aid? Where are first aid supplies stored in the workplace? Do employees know how to differentiate between the kinds of injuries that need hospital care and those that do not?
For First Aid and CPR training please reach out to Kelly Rawls at krawls@templetx.gov to schedule your department!

STAY IN THE KNOW... PROJECT
UPDATES
Azalea Drive Get ready to experience a whole new Azalea Drive! Crews are hard at work, and here's the progress report: They've spiced up the traffic signals, laid the groundwork with fresh paving and curbs, and even added some stylish sidewalks. But wait, there's more! Workers are gearing up to coat the road's surface to perfection, bring a touch of nature with landscaping and efficient irrigation, and, of course, relocate those signs to their new, strategic positions.
Avenue G Pump Station Temple's Avenue G Pump Station upgrades are cruising along at over 40% completion! The hefty suction and discharge pipes are already in place, adding a touch of modernity to this vintage station from 1955. But that's not all – we're eagerly awaiting the next few weeks as the foundation gets poured, giving this aging gem a well-deserved facelift. We're installing new variable-speed pumps and boosting their capacity to meet those growing demands. In fact, when we're done, this will be the biggest pump station in the city's distribution system, capable of handling a whopping 17.5 million gallons per day!

INFORMATION & TIPS PURCHASING TIDBITS: HUB FORM & LIST Your efforts in soliciting quotes from HUB vendors will need to be documented on the HUB Form and submitted with your quotes to Purchasing at quotes@templetx.gov. The HUB Form can be found on the Employee Information Portal. If you contact a HUB vendor for a quote for services or goods that they are qualified to provide, and the HUB vendor does not respond by the deadline you indicate in your email, please print out the email showing that an attempt was made for a quote. Because of the HUB requirements, you may end up with more than three quotes, as the objective is always to obtain the ‘best value’ for goods or services. PURCHASING RESOURCES
CEASE THE GREASE! The City of Temple will be collecting used cooking oil from Thursday, November 23, through Sunday, November 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the following Temple fire stations: Central Fire Station, 210 N. Third St. Fire Station #3, 3606 Midway Dr. Fire Station #4, 411 Waters Dairy Road Fire Station #7, 8420 W. Adams Ave.
BITS & BYTES Updates are used to fix bugs, improve user experience, and more importantly, patch potential security risks. While it's ok to wait a bit to make sure the newest update doesn’t cause more bugs than it fixes, it is important to ensure your devices are all up to date with the preferred version of the software.
