Wildflower Tips
Enjoying wildflowers can be a wonderful activity, but it's important to be aware of the potential hazards and follow safety tips to ensure a safe and fun time in the great outdoors. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
Wildflower Capital
Lupinus texensis, also known as the Texas Bluebonnet, grows in Central Texas and is the most commonly known. Temple, Texas was designated the Wildflower Capital of Texas in 1989 with the House Concurrent Resolution No 73, at the 71st Legislature, Regular Session
Know the area: Research where you plan to photograph and view wildflowers. Be cautious about taking photos off the highway. Stay on designated trails: Avoid walking on delicate wildflowers. Respect private property. Protect yourself from the sun: Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring plenty of water: Stay hydrated. Be mindful of wildlife: Beware of dangerous wildlife, such as snakes or venomous insects. Wear appropriate footwear.
