Dear Coaches and NAIA Teams,

Welcome to Pensacola!

We are excited to be hosting our first year of the NAIA Women’s Soccer Championship and having you, your team, your families, and alumni here for the next week. We understand the tournament is your priority, and we hope it's your school that celebrates the final win in the Championship game. If time allows now or in the future, we invite you to explore the Pensacola area. Offering miles and miles of sugar-white sand and blue-green water, there are plenty of access points to our nationally ranked beaches at Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key. Built on a rich history spanning over 460 years, you can see the influences of the past still today walking the America’s 1st Settlement trail, a three-mile red line painted on the sidewalks in Downtown Pensacola.

Spend a little time exploring Pensacola and you’ll be amazed by what our destination has to offer and why we say that Pensacola is “The Way to Beach™!”

Please use this binder as a reference point for local contacts, venues, restaurants, and experiences available while you are here. If you are looking for more information, it can be found at www.VisitPensacola.com.

We hope your time in Pensacola is filled with memorable experiences.

We look forward to seeing you again in the future!

BATTLE FOR THE RED BANNER

It is truly my honor to welcome you to Escambia County for the 2024 NAIA Women’s Soccer Championships As the host of this most prestigious event for the first year, I hope you will enjoy your time in our amazing community On behalf of our partners Escambia County, Visit Pensacola, City of Pensacola, and the the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics I thank you for being here

While we are not home to any of the NAIA institutions, we are a city with strong ties to sports, alumni, fans and students from across the U.S.

In addition to the tremendous soccer action on the field, Escambia County offers a blend of rich history as America’s first European settlement (sorry St Augustine), pristine beaches, and vibrant culture A few top recommendations include:

1 Pensacola and Perdido Key Beaches: Located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, the beaches are renowned for their sugar-white sands and emerald-green waters

2 Fort Pickens: Another history filled venue is the U S Military Fort located on Sata Rosa Island . The area offers a mix of history and natural beauty and once was the residence of Geronimo.

3 Historic Downtown Pensacola: Explore galleries, restaurants and shops in the City’s heart Stroll down the muti-award winning Palafox street and the surrounding areas. Check out the popular Palafox Market on Saturday mornings filled with local vendors and personalities galore.

4.Naval Air Station Pensacola: Home of the Blue Angels, the National Naval Aviation Museum and the Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum, a full day of unique, world-class activites await your visit

5 Boat Tours: Board one of the many options from sailing to ferry rides to dolphin tours and see the history and beauty from a whole new dimension.

6 Restaurants and breweries: If you love great food and libations, the area has tremendous offerings m, many featuring our local world-renowned Red Snapper and more. The area also ranks as one of the highest numbers of local breweries per capita in the country.

7 Pensacola Ice Flyers Hockey: Enjoy a professional hockey match on Dec 6th as the Ice Flyers take on the Macon Mayhem!

Check out visitpensacola com for a full listing and more information of the things to do during you visit.

Thank you for choosing Escambia County and Pensacola as your destination to “Relax, Cheer, Play Repeat ” Enjoy the tournament! #BeMoved

Championship All-Time Participation

Notes:

From 1999-2002, it was deemed by the NCAA Official Playing Rules that a tie (by the action of PKs) on-field was officially considered a win or loss. The team that had more PKs, was the winner.

Records include National Championship Opening Round. Teams tied for third and fourth place are listed under third place only. Ties computed as one-half win, one-half loss.
