Executive Board Roles & Elections

Elections Instructions • •

Officers shall be elected by a majority vote Candidates may be nominated at the floor at the time of election.


Immediate Past Chairperson – Paula Avery: Pavery@marymountcalifornia.edu • Serves as chair of Nominations and Elections Committee. • Serve as a consultant to the Chairperson. • Assist with special projects or initiatives as determined by the Executive Team or Advisory Council. • Other duties as determined and appropriate.


Chairperson – Dennis Hicks: dehicks@iue.edu • Establish overall long and short term goals and objectives for the association. • In consultation with the NAIA Liaison, schedule dates, times, locations, and agendas for Executive Committee meetings. • In consultation with the Vice-Chairperson and NAIA Liaison, schedule dates, times, locations and agendas for the Association Advisory Committee. • Officiate and conduct Team and Council meetings. • Provide leadership to the Executive Team and Association Advisory Council. • Other duties as determined and appropriate.


Vice Chair– Nominations • Assist the Chairperson in establishing overall long and short term goals and objectives for the Executive committee. • Officiate and conduct Advisory Council meetings. • Attend all Executive Committee meetings. • Fulfill Chairperson role in the absence of the Chairperson. • Other duties as determined and appropriate.


Secretary– Nominations • Ensure Executive Team and Advisory Council minutes are complete and accurate. • Maintains meeting minute records. • Maintains official communication records as determined by Executive Team and/or Advisory Council.


Repeat Course Advisory Committee - Volunteers • Offer expertise in evaluation of transfer credit • Provide guidance on how to treat repeat courses in question using course catalog information provided by EC staff • Email correspondence, fewer than 10 reviews per year


Home School Committee Volunteers • Review and act upon home school waiver requests from schools and/or student-athlete. • Approximately 20 cases per year • Reports to the Council of Faculty Athletics Representatives

2016-17 InCred Update • www.InCredEvals.org has launched! We sent registration codes to campus administrators inviting them to create an account to view InCred evaluations online. • InCred has expanded its service and is now accepting applications for all international students. • The average number of business days to complete an evaluation is just under seven. • Nearly 90% of evaluations are completed within 10 business days. • ~90 NAIA schools are using and recommending InCred. • Will be launching expedited services in Fall 2017.



Action Steps • Visit www.InCredEvals.org for more information (FAQs, registration guide and benefits overview). • Engage your institution in conversations to add InCred as an allowable credential evaluation company for your incoming student-athletes. • If directing international PSAs to use InCred, include links to InCredEvals.org on your institution’s materials. • Contact us with questions at 816-595-8300 (ext. 3) or InCred@naia.org. • InCred staff are available to conduct one-on-one calls with your campus to answer questions.

NAIA Eligibility Pre-Conference Workshop • NAIA Registrars, FARs, or others interested in learning more about the eligibility process for the NAIA, this workshop is for you! Join the NAIA Registrar Association Executive Board and representatives from the NAIA Eligibility Center for an eligibility roundtable and update on requirements and legislation. ECP/Play NAIA software tools and tips will be presented.
