Class Rank Letters: Current Article V.C.2 “If the student’s class rank does not appear on the above mentioned documents, a letter from the student’s principal or headmaster, written on the school’s letterhead and with the school’s official seal, stating that the student meets the class rank requirement can be accepted.” Proposed Change: Allow numerous academic affiliates to sign class rank letters. i.e. Guidance Counselors, Vice Principals, Registrars, Acting Principals, etc.

Redefine ‘final’ class rank: Current Article V.C.2 Casebook Example “High School Class Rank Approved Ruling: The class ranking shall be determined from the student’s high school transcript that includes all coursework taken through the term immediately prior to graduation (e.g. the eighth term of school in which eight terms are necessary for a student to graduate” Proposed Change: Redefine class ranking as final rank assessed by the high school as reported on the transcript or used at the time of graduation. Florida & Texas High Schools issue final ranking for all graduates at the end of the 7th semester Current rule excludes these students from utilizing class rank

Repeat Rule: Current Article V.C.12 “Repeat courses previously passed with a grade of “D” or better in any term, during summer or during a non-term cannot count toward satisfying the 24/36Hour Rule” NAIA Eligibility Center Analytics The NAIA Eligibility Center conducted research on 15,000+ first time NAIA transfer students over the 2013-14/2014-15 academic years 18% (2,784 students) of the total cohort were identified as having repeated coursework 2% of the total cohort (288 students) were deemed not eligible for failure to meet the 24/36 hour rule and had repeated coursework. ‹#›

Courses with grade D or F will be allowed to receive credit for second attempted.
