Olive oil. Garlic and onion.
Tomatoes.
The combination of these simple ingredients gives the base for a proper and tasty tomato sauce pasta. However, there are several techniques to chop and varieties of ingredients that can be use. Moreover there are also variations such as preferring butter to oil, adding carrots and celery or even tiny chilli pepper; all depends on what flavour you wish to give to the sauce.
It is a commonplace thinking that any tomatoes will make a good tomato sauce. It is wrong. Tomatoes should be selected for their colour, shape and density. Tomato sauce is the core of a pasta dish; colouring and creaming the pasta. A successful tomatoes sauce make someone lick his chops and clean up the sauce on the bottom of the pasta bowl with a piece of bread.

Pasta.
Basil.
The final artefact that despite all the ingredients and time involved is the real protagonist. Different shapes of pasta should accurately be chosen based on the experience that the commensal should have. Different flours pasta should instead be preferred base on the type of people who re going to enjoy the dish.
Taste and quality are unfortunately not enough most of the time. Also the eyes need to be pleased. This fresh spice makes the dish not only richer in flavour but also gives it a colourful touch. A small green leaf on a red sea with a yellowish shore make the plate more appealing and engaging.

What kind of role and impact might an icebreaker have when the context is a design project and the strangers are the members of a newly formed multidiscipliary teamwork? Starting from this question, the one-year research project investigates the impact of a social game applied as icebreaker on the idea generation of a design process of multidisciplinary team-works.

How many times have you gotten rid of still working products just because you no longer liked them? For affection and satisfaction of products, this study investigates how types of disclosure affect intimacy which plays an important role in the interaction between humans and robots. The impact of the disclosures on the level of intimacy and sub sequential product affection for the robot is evaluated in an empirical study with a robotic vacuum cleaner.

The six-months project was carried out as inspirational external research for the redesign of the Philips Home Theatre System. After performing a usability test of the old model device, usability problems and new needs were found guiding the next steps for a re-design proposal towards the concept of ‘smart home’. The re-design proposal was restricted to the elements of television and remote control. A working interface prototype was developed and tasted.

RabbitsInRdam A new social&city spots network to re-discover Rotterdam city.
Concept developed for the course of Exploring Interaction at TU Delft.
Individual work
Service design #
Rabbits In Rdam is a social network system among the outdoor city environment. The concept is developed around two aspects: catching the attention and personal involvement. Inflatable origami rabbits, made of waterproof paper, are used as sings to mark spots in the city by hanging them outside the chosen place. A colour code identified a category to which a marked place belongs.

The project focuses on the character of Alexandra Gaba and aim to arouse her happiness. Objects gain the central role and represent the storytellers as if they were alive creatures. The installation, set in Kaap Belvedere, exposes hanged objects brought by the visitor regarding a topic, chosen by Alexandra. A central device allows to recognise the objects, listen a recorded story from the owner and also record additional comments by the person who is interacting with it.
