LOCATION AND BUILDING Young men and women yea rning for a n education will probably n t be so particular in rega rd to the sur round ings of a sc hool, as to its faciliti e ' foJ' imparting know ledge. And , y L, very thing else bein equal, beauti ful urroundings are alway' preferred . In regard to location, our school is indeed fortunate. The vicinity of Parkland is, a the nam imI lies, a natural park. i. e. open prairie wi~h groves and clusters of tr e at hort all I irr gular interval . The grou nd is sllch thA.t it is neith r ell! t.y in the summer nor muddy in thtl winter. The school being 10 a ted a few mil outh of Lhe city of Tacoma is far enough from tow n to insure ab olute qui t, so necessary for tnd nt.. , yet 0 near that students can avail t hem. elves of the opportunitie • fforded by a laraer city to hear the best of mu ic, good lectures, etc. The bu il ding i 190 feet long and 2 feet wide. In the main part the distance from the xlremity of the front tep to the out ide of th toilEt room in the real' , is 125 feet. FrOIL the floor of the ba emen t, to the top of the flagstaff he h eight is 132 feet. The tower on the main bnilcling, a well as the small ones on the wings are ven t hafts for th e e"'cape of lonI air from all rooms in the building. Thro u ~h openin g. in the brick wall fresh air i adm itted to the heMina rad iators, each room being thus well sll pplied with fr es h ai r. The building i eqnipped with all mo lem convenien ces, heated by steam and ligh t d hy 1ectl'icity.
Alii AND OBJECT The 11.1 m and object of thi s school i , by th ol'olll1h i·n ttnction a nd Ch ri tian discipli ne to prepare young men and women for some ll . efLl I work in li~ .
