What is pluralthinking for ? ! pluralthinking exists to change people’s relationship with brands for the better.! ! We inspire, illuminate and warn, ! so that ! brands can communicate, position and
!
grow more effectively.! 20/07/15
We are all plural. ! ! What resonates with us, how we connect, what we belong to – all incorrigibly plural.! ! How we engage with brands depends on the cultural context.! ! That context is changing. As never before we are in a period of creative destruction, re-invention and reappraisal. ! ! “Feel the drunkenness of life being various” ! ! ! ! RTC Credentials

A time for fresh thinking. ! ! As identity becomes ever more plural, clarity of ideas and purpose become more important.! ! Brands must refine and clarify their defining ideas and purpose in order to have a role that changes lives for the better. ! ! Brands are looking to shape change, not just respond to change. They look for agencies who can not just provide insight but provoke transformation. ! ! Only fresh thinking can do that. ! ! ! RTC Credentials

There’s a better way. ! How traditional agencies work is just old fashioned. ! ! Fixed teams, expensive premises, homogeneity of disciplines – it’s inefficient – even suffocating. ! ! And how does all this ‘stuff’ improve the thinking? ! ! It doesn’t. ! ! Pluralthinking rejects ‘stuffocation’. ! ! ! !

!
Target Understanding ! A major international appliance manufacturer needed to reduce the amount of no-fault returns they were experiencing in order to cut the massive spend it was costing them.! Pamela conducted a very functional study using a series of focus groups and depth interviews, followed by detailed category analysis. The aim was to understand usage habits and expectations pre-sale.! The study uncovered a number of strong actionable insights that allowed the client to adjust it’s strategy and in-turn, reduce their no-fault return rate successfully. !
Brand Positioning ! ! A leading international electronics brand needed to understand how it’s brand positioning translated across several EU countries. ! Brett worked closely with them over a number of years to develop the positioning through cultural understanding. This then spread into the positioning of the brand across it’s domestic appliances, electrical, home electronics and TV. ! The end result was crucial strategic input into local brand strategies and guardrails for how their overarching positioning could translate across cultures and categories. !
Comms Development! A major appliance brand needed to ensure their strategy was being effective in every engagement strategy they had planned, notably the sponsorship of the 2012 London Olympics. ! Brett worked closely with their agency conducting research to evaluate the campaign, develop the communications through the findings, and to extend the strategy into the overarching through-
!
the-line strategy. !
Positioning Strategy ! A major electronics brand required input to their positioning strategy. We helped them to develop their positioning strategy across three major arms of their business. This resulted in a roll out of a global positioning based on the concept of 'helpfulness' and brand expertise (so you don't need to worry about the detail - it 'just works').! The success of this work led to a range of evaluation and development work across different brands in their portfolio. We evaluated domestic entertainment systems, we developed campaigns for a lighting product, and we evaluated a campaign for an innovative new TV technology in the UK, France, Hong Kong, NL and Germany. !
