There will never be a time of year where I am as relaxed and happy except during the holidays! Nothing in the world is better than spending time with my loved ones during this time. We are all so blessed to be able to see each other, laugh, joke, party, etc. and go back to our daily routines. Every year there are thousands that are alone and would love for someone to visit them or send them a card! I have personally challenged myself to make someone‟s Christmas the best they‟ve ever had.

You that are reading this may think that you can‟t make someone‟s Christmas that special. Well that‟s where you are wrong. For many, a simple phone call will make the holidays better or perhaps a greeting card to someone will brighten up their day. 1. Drape the scarf around your neck allowing one end to be longer than the other.

There are so many people in need of basics such as shoes, socks, underwear, toothbrushes, etc. that would really appreciate these items that we sometimes take for granted.

It doesn‟t have to be a big event. It could very well be a local musical held at a church and donate the proceeds to your local shelter.

The most valuable thing that a person has is time. Of all the things that someone can replace, time isn‟t one of them and can never be replaced. If you‟re not celebrating with your friends/loved ones then help out at your local shelter.

Thinking about cheating on your taxes this year? You may want to think twice about it.

-PMJ Year after year people cheat on their taxes thinking that the government isn‟t paying attention to what‟s really going on. What people are failing to realize is that if the government were to crack down on the individual there isn‟t a statue of limitations on the individual. Meaning that once you‟re caught, they can and will come after you hard. Many of us know of someone that has carried their child as a dependent.

Then the next year they carry them as a cousin and they file head of household because now they can‟t be carried as they were the previous year. This is illegal!

No matter how many years you‟ve done it, the government knows and is continuing to watch. Why do they let it go on for so long is something that we don‟t know or better yet understand.

Here‟s where all of this becomes interesting because I know that some are thinking that because they have gotten away with it for years and the government hasn‟t caught them they‟re okay. Did you know that there is a whistleblower award that the IRS gives for those that tell on individuals that are involved in fraudulent federal tax issues? YES! There are two types of awards. If the taxes, penalties, interests and other amounts in dispute exceed $2 million, and a few other qualifications are met, the IRS will pay 15-30 percent of the amount collected. Also if the whistleblower disagrees with the outcome of the claim, he or she can appeal to the tax Court.

We‟ve all heard time after time that being obese can cause complications with either becoming pregnant or can cause complications with your pregnancy. This is true but there are some things that you can relax about. New studies have shown that women that are obese can have healthy pregnancies more than some health care providers want you to know or tell.

New Study There a been a new study that suggests that overweight women may need more of the hormone gonadotrophin during their pregnancies. This is more common with women that have had a fertility procedure done. Researchers believe that this hormone is distributed over body weight, thus the more beautiful you are, the more you will need.

They also found that beautifully figured women who ovulate, have cycles, and have at least one fallopian tube are just as likely to become pregnant as their average size counterparts.

You are beautiful -Shari Nicole Growing up full figured was never easy for me. Especially when I didn‟t start off this way. There were many days that I didn‟t want to go to school because I was so tired of people making fun of me for being “fat”. That was then, but as I fast forward to my adult life it wasn‟t any different. I found myself struggling everyday with self acceptance and would frequently have thoughts of having cosmetic surgery just to feel pretty or just ending it all because the pain of not being thought of as “pretty” was just too much to bare. I used to never feel as if I was as gorgeous as some of my friends and my moods would fluctuate throughout the day. Not only that my depression really overflowed into my education beyond high school, my relationships, and my job.

I was really losing control of my life and what I realized is that change, beauty, health etc. all begins within. I literally accepted that I didn‟t have to wait on a guy, friends, family, or society to validate my beauty. I thought about how many people have lost their lives or those who have taken their own lives just because they didn‟t fit into someone‟s definition of beauty.

I immediately felt a sense to tell myself that I‟m gorgeous and that no one could ever be as beautiful as me. At first it was a struggle. I would tell myself every morning that I was pretty but then after a week I upgraded myself to gorgeous. By then end of the year, I was beautiful and you couldn‟t tell me otherwise. No PLUS! one is more important than you and I really want you to know that you are not in this alone. Never let someone make you feel less than the perfect person that you are. Yes, I did say perfect. You may have some imperfections, but you are made perfectly and exactly the way you are supposed to be. No, this is not a means to sweep healthy lifestyles under the rug, but it‟s for you to realize that no matter what your shape is, what size you are, or what society says you have meaning and a purpose.

Recipes worth a try Reproduced from the Wyatt and Edith Yarbrough Family and Friends Cookbook

Paprika-Cumin Salmon Filets 2 lb. skinned salmon fillets cut into four pieces

1/2 tsp. ground pepper

1 tsp. paprika

1/2 tsp. salt

1tsp. ground cumin

1/2 tsp. extra virgin olive oil

Combine spices and sprinkle on both sides of fish. Coat a nonstick skillet with oil and add fish. Cook on medium heat 6 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily.

Green Beans and Red Onions 1 1/2 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed

2 tbsp. Dijon mustard

1 c. sliced red onions

1 tbsp. olive oil

3 tbsp. red wine vinegar

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. black pepper Cook green beans in boiling water 8 minutes or until tender crisp. Drain beans. Combine green beans and onion in large mixing bowl.

Whisk vinegar, mustard, olive oil, salt and pepper together in a microwavable bowl. Cook mixture in High in microwave for 1 minute. Remove from microwave and whisk mixture. Drizzle dressing over bean mixture.

Toss well to coat. Serve and enjoy.

I didn't see it coming... nor did I get the " It's not you, it's me " talk before he walked away from what was seemingly a beautiful relationship. I couldn't help but wonder what went wrong and scratched my head listening to Chris Brown's " Deuces " for what must have been a month before I decided that it was his loss, that I deserved better and all that other jazz we as women always tell ourselves or friends after a break-up. Only this time it was different, this time I found myself wanting to know what had happened even after the " healing process " had long been over.

Communication is the key to having a successful relationship in every aspect of life and five months all after the fact he finally decided to have " The Talk" with me. I started off by asking Derick* why it had taken him so long to reach out to me and provide some type of closure for us as well as to elaborate his thoughts on the general question at hand; Why do you think most men turn cold when it comes down to communicating?

"Honestly with our situation, I felt that you wouldn't understand what I had going on and that I wouldn't be able to explain it right, so to keep down all confusion I decided to lay low and handle things my way. Now on the other hand I feel that most men choose not to communicate for many reasons, it could be that they are scared of the outcome if they actually do open up, like me they just don't know how to, or its just that they don't want to." He told me that he shuts down when he goes through things and that I wouldn't understand because it was a MAN thing, but I sat there thinking to myself isn't the decision to just walk away a little lopsided being that he never even gave me the chance to try and understand whatever it was he had going on. What sense does it make to claim you want to build something with your significant other only to run away at the first sign of trouble? And in my case the trouble wasn't even in the relationship itself but with him.

1. Guys claiming that they’re Polo down!

Um sir, I‟m sorry but when did Ralph decide to change the logo from a jockey on a horse playing polo to three midgets on a Rottweiler smoking a cigarette? We‟re just saying.

2. The Bad Girls Club!

Who wants to see a publicized EDITED girl fight?

3. People still claiming other people’s children on their taxes!

As broke as our government is, I don‟t think that this is the time to be messing with their money! Example: Wesley Snipes, Ronald Isley, that woman across the street that you forgot to pay $500 for her letting you claim her kid and now she‟s mad and snitched on you all the while forgetting that it‟s ILLEGAL!

4. For women: Snow boots and no snow. For men: V-neck shirts and no neck!

Enough said!

5. Media Take Out having to retract their stories!

Dec. 1-MTO: WTH? Beyoncéé and Barak expecting!

Dec. 2-Jay-Z calls MTO: Yeah this is ya boy Hov and on the R.O.C. ya‟ll better fix this „ish!

Dec.2-First Lady Calls MTO: Hello this is Michelle Obama and if you don‟t fix this I will personally make you run laps around my herb garden and make you put healthy lifestyle tips on your site!

Dec.3-MTO: We‟re sorry. Beyoncé​́ isn‟t pregnant by Barak. Sorry ya‟ll!

6. Social Dating Sites!

We‟ve all tried them and after the third stalker calls you realize that meeting online can be worse than face to face encounters!

7. Stars screaming free their homies on their albums!

First of all, we didn‟t pay $13 to hear about your friend in jail. Secondly, if they committed a crime why should they be free? And you wonder why people still burn your albums.

8. The media all over Beyoncé́ ’s pregnancy!

Look let this woman enjoy this time. She has entertained us all for years and deserves to be happy and have a healthy pregnancy. How about you tell the truth if you‟re pregnant or not and stop trying to keep this no good dude in your life! OUCH!

9. R. Kelly and these blues fest albums!

What happened to the R. Kelly we used to groove to? Please do not make an other Love Letter album.

10. Men not knowing how to ask the basic questions!

Why when a guy wants to know if you are single he asks, “How is your man treating you?” WTH? Umm, please stop approaching us with lines you pick up from Hip-but-no-Hop albums. It‟s so not a good look!

Born of Courage - Inspired to Question Reality A free and passionate spirit, born and raised in a small town in Canada called Ste-Anne of Madawaska, Jessica Martin was an only child to 70‟s generation hippie parents.

From a young age, I began to question the accepted ways of mainstream thinking... wondering what could be possible in life if you changed the way you think about your reality? I started to sing and model at a very young age, My mom loved photography and she was good at what she did! My mother used to take pictures of me everyday. She always said I was naturally photogenic. I think I blossomed thanks to my beautiful photos that where taken from my mom , they said a lot! I want people to realize that you can be beautiful no matter what size you are. It‟s very important to love yourself the way you are! I do believe that plus-size modeling has redefined all the usual beauty standards. It‟s very important to live in harmony, be yourself, and do what you love the most. You have to be confident.

My dream started in childhood when I believed in myself and thought I was beautiful, but boys were saying I was fat. I was never skinny, and I liked the fact that I was healthy. I wish there were more people like me on the covers of major magazines– healthy and confident! I want young girls to eat properly without starving themselves just because being skinny is in fashion. I want all the runway models to be size 8-16 and not 0-6. I want plus-size modeling to be popular in fashion all over the world along with the skinny models.

What do you love about yourself and why?

I like the fact that I can enjoy life the way God as created me.

I can wake up in the morning and say, “I love myself”.

I'm a cool down to earth person, I love My Son, The Lord & My family... I believe NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER, and that's why I've realized all my goals are stronger than any struggle I face... Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. (E.R) I am passionate about balance in life, tranquility, peace and forgiveness....I also believe the best thing you can offer your child is moral and family values, respect and lots of love, something that we don't see much now a days. Singing is one of my passions But, I also love to cook and spending time with my son, growing & helping others to see that they matter! God as blessed me with the most amazing thing a woman could have in her life; "My Son". He is The Biggest pride and joy in my life. He changed my life's whole meaning and being when he came into this world, I'm a better person because of him. He's is the reason for my smiles!
