Plymouth Patriots is the only professional basketball club in Devon and Cornwall, based in Plymouth, England. The club compete in the British Basketball League (BBL), the countries premier basketball competition as well as having sides representing the club in several lower-level leagues. This brand builds on a long history of basketball in the city that spans over 38 years and represents all of the key elements of the club including its youth pathway and community. The patriots represent a great fanbase, city wide partnerships and a tremendous focus on community projects and youth development across the region. The future is exciting with the club and provides a great platform for sponsors to showcase their company and association with a CSR focused organisation.

THE BBL The British Basketball League (BBL) has been at the pinnacle of the British game since its inception in 1987 and represents the highest level in the UK. The League has a colourful 30+ year history including great teams, dynasties, memorable moments, and unforgettable players and coaches including the legendary Alton Byrd and ex-BBL Coach, Nick Nurse - who led the Toronto Raptors to an NBA Championship in 2019, the highest accolade in the world of basketball – whilst assisted by another ex-player and coach of the league, Fab Flournoy. Currently there are 10 franchises across the nation, spanning Plymouth in the South West all the way up to Glasgow, north of the border. In fact, Plymouth versus Glasgow is the longest distanced professional sporting rivalry of any kind in the entirety of UK Sport. BBL clubs are increasingly built on the foundations of strong community programmes, driven by the League’s Hoops4Health initiative. Whilst providing positive role models for young people, clubs are also actively involved in developing the next generation of British basketball players. The club promotes the sport, and associated healthy lifestyles, to young people in their localities. Reflecting on the Leagues growing popularity, the BBL has commercial partnerships with Perform, Sky Sports, Molten UK, Kappa, Buzz Productions, Genius sports, Sportradar, Dynamik, Matchroom and Synergy.

MAIN SPONSOR This package will have your company as the club’s main sponsor for the entire season. Such is the prestigious nature of your sponsorship the package is extensive which includes:

HEAD COACH SPONSORSHIP PAUL JAMES Paul’s career in basketball started out as a professional player for his hometown team Leicester and during an illustrious playing career which resulted in many trophies through to commencing coaching in 1997. JUNIOR BASKETBALL LEAGUE SPONSORSHIP The Junior Basketball League is our community basketball programme delivering sessions across the city to young players from ages 7 to 16. This programme is extensive and all children in this programme will receive a branded T Shirt with your company logo and is a great way to get your company associated with a large scale community basketball programme. Children will learn and interact with coaches and players developing their basketball skills and enjoying the sport in a friendly environment.
