WELCOME ANOTHER PACKED CROWD TO THE PAVILIONS
Words from the Chairman - Carl Heslop
Following our disappointing debut home game this season we look forward to welcoming Surrey to the pavilions to get our home campaign going. The support was fantastic, and we definitely saw the game as 2 points lost with key moments in the game not able to be capitalised.
However, it showed we can compete in this league without our on court general Antonio Williams and the form of club captain Elvisi Dusha in his absence has really been a positive sign of things moving forward. If Elvisi can continue in this vein of form, it will be exciting having both Antonio and him playing together in the remainder of the season.
Absence gives an opportunity to others and stake a claim and we’re really excited to see what this group of players can do as they mature this season.
Our new merchandise was warmly received and the feedback that we have had on the new designs has been fantastic. The amount of people I see around Plymouth in Patriots wear is really great to see and feel really proud of our fans supporting the club in the is way.
In addition, the volume of fans who bought this season kit has been absolutely fantastic. We really appreciate everyone’s support, and the response has been humbling. We will definitely set a record this season for kit sales and look
forward to seeing everyone wearing them very soon to games.
Off the court we continue to grow, and our new development teams got into competitive action last week which starts our competitive youth programme under the Patriots brand. I’m extremely proud to see so many children getting the opportunity to play competitive basketball for the first time against other regional sides that wasn’t available previously. Alongside other youth programmes in the city it is really exciting the scale of opportunities for children to engage with the sport which we look to continue to grow.
In addition, our schools programme is gathering pace and we are adding additional coaching sessions weekly throughout Plymouth and the surrounding area. The number of schools we are now engaging and actively linked is the highest it’s ever been and the volume of returning schools this year is extremely positive for the club.
Having missed the last game, I’m really looking forward to watching my first home game of the season and with a packed pavilions I’m really appreciative of the support everyone is giving the team this season.
Let’s make our crowd count today and get lift off against the surrey scorchers!
LET’S GO PATRIOTS!
WORD FROM
Good afternoon and welcome to the Pavilions as we host the Surrey Scorchers in the BBL championship. Surrey is now coached by former Manchester Giants Coach Lloyd Gardner, and he has put together an athletic and talented team.
Newcastle last time here in the BBL Cup was I game that I certainly felt we let get away from us down the stretch. We had many opportunities to pull away from the Eagles but failed to show the clinical edge that we are going to need in so many games of this kind. We need to be more ruthless in those key moments at both ends of the floor.
We played some very good basketball in parts at both ends of the floor and we need to be in these moments more often and for longer periods of the game. For us this season, everyone has a part to play and they need to bring their best games game in game out.
Missing Antonio is of course a big loss, and he will be out again this weekend, however we showed that we are not just a one-man team with several
of the players really stepping up in his absence. Elvisi Dusha is played as well as I have ever seen him play and we need him to stay in this aggressive frame of mind for the remainder of the season.
Some of the new players I’m expecting a lot more from and I want to see significant improvements moving forward. Once we get everyone doing the job, they have been brought in to do we will be very competitive and more.
It’s going to be a long season and the important thing is to you the best supporters in the BBL and for us to make our home a fortress and a difficult place for the opposition to come and play.
I extend a warm welcome to the Surrey Scorchers coaching staff and players for this BBL championship match.
ENJOY THE GAME.

GRAPHIC DESIGN CREATIVE HERO
How do you choose the right people to create your brand, conceive your next ad campaign, or design packaging for your new product? There are numerous agencies and freelancers in the Plymouth area alone, many producing strong creative work. Clearly, you need to check their portfolios and fees. But, crucially, you also need to know how they work and why they design the way they do.
Great design is as much about function, as it is about being beautiful. My approach is to understand your plans, assess the challenges you may face, and find effective solutions to realise your goals. Whatever the job, I aim to produce design that increases recognition in your target audience, tells your story and prompts customers to choose you over your competition.
Just speak to my clients and see what they have to say.
