LET’S GET THE PAVILIONS ROCKING Words from the Chairman - Carl Heslop

Following a mega away day at Surrey where we saw floods of Patriots fans descend on the surrey sports park we again return to the pavilions as we forge down the home straight. The atmosphere at surrey was amazing and I know the players responded accordingly as we recovered from a stuttering start after our midweek break. To see so many fans make the long trip is really special for this club and proves we have some of the best fans in the league. We look to next season where we can make this a regular occurrence and get our fans to as many of the BBL venues as possible. The victory however has set this encounter up perfectly and although we don’t have the head-to-head on Glasgow, we certainly need to impose ourselves against a very solid rocks roster who have put together an amazing run of results. With a handful clubs fighting to pick up those final playoff places we really need to use home advantage today and drive our team onto a victory. With a near sell-out crowd I’m sure driving this team on will not be an issue for the patriot’s fans. Over the past few months, the support has been absolutely phenomenal and to be selling out our games consistently is a major achievement.

This has only been achievable by the amazing support and confidence on what we are trying to do this year and I would thank every one of you who have invested in the Patriots this year. It is much appreciated. We have also announced our end of season presentation evening which will take place at the New Continental following our home game against Newcastle and we are excited to share with you what has been going on behind the scenes this season and auction some very special items which are truly one-off original items. I also cannot believe we are already coming towards the end of the first patriot’s season. Time has flown and it has been a season like no other, but we close the season in a much stronger position than we started with many elements to be extremely proud of. It has been an absolute pleasure driving the club forward this year and look forward to continuing improving things both on and off the court. It’s what we do and let’s move a step closer to the playoffs tonight.

Good evening and welcome to the Pavilions for this vital BBL Championship game. Today we host the Glasgow Rocks who are coached by Gareth Murray. The Rocks are the form team in the league at the moment having won their last six games on the bounce with their last win coming against the London lions last weekend. We along with Glasgow are chasing a playoff spot and the race to ﬁnish in those places between fourth and eighth could not be more closely contended. This really is going to be a very exciting end to the season that will go right down to the last game before we know where we are and if we make the end of season show. On Saturday we travelled to Surrey for the must win game and it was fantastic to see so many of our supports make the trip down to cheer on

the team. Thank you so much for the support it really gave the team a big boost and the players responded and didn’t disappoint as the team got back to playing the basketball, we have all become accustomed to seeing and coming away with a very good win. Great efforts were made at both ends of the court and the energy intensity and ﬁght was present again. Three games left and we need three more games played at that level of performance. We have given ourselves a fantastic opportunity to make the playoff and we need to grasp that opportunity with both hands. I extend a warm welcome to Glasgow Rocks coaching staff and players for this BBL championship match.
