This past weekend’s Tour de Delta was one of most spectacular yet, according to race director Mark Ernsting. “I think the weekend this year was one of the most spectacular weekends in the history of the tour,” he said. “All of the commit-
tee members and board members put on a first class show for the community and visiting athletes. We had incredible spectator turnout for each of the events.” Sunday’s White Spot | Delta Road Race, won by Seattle’s Steve Fisher for the second straight year, featured a new course entirely set in Tsawwassen as well as international sanctioning for the first
time. It likely got the largest spectator turnout ever, Ernsting noted,

won the women’s road race. San Diego’s Ken Hanson took first place in Saturday’s Brenco Criterium in Ladner while Robin Farina of Nashville was victorious in the women’s race. Cuba’s Luis Amaran opened the Tour de Delta Friday by winning the MK Delta Criterium in North Delta. Lex Albrecht won the women’s race.
