Chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu, the reorganization process involves the redeployment, transfer and retirement of some of its 67 directors. Idowu who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) disclosed that the exercise include
the reduction of the departments from 26 to nine while the directorates were to be reduced to 10. He said: “There are now fewer departments in the Commission being headed by people who are considered best suited to make the
departments functional.” Idowu explained that some departments were merged, adding that the civil society, gender, voter education and public affairs, becomes the department of Voters’ Education, Public Relations and Civil Society.
He said under the exercise, the leadership would be reconfigured because the Commission had a number of directors in the system and a lot of options had been put on the table. Gunmen burn Katsina police station From Lawal Sa'idu Funtua, Katsina

he Katsina state Police Command has confirmed the burning down of a divisional police station at Ngawa local government area by
unknown gunmen, on Monday night. The Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji, who briefed the press yesterday, described the attackers as robbers and noted that their intention was to steal police arms.
In the course of the attack, according to the Commissioner, the gunmen threw an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the roof of the police station and ignited the fire that destroyed the building. According to him, “there was
no casualty on the part of the police but some of the suspects escaped with wounds and we have recovered five IEDs and three motorcycles. “We are pursuing them and we have alerted our neighbouring states and we are
going to arrest them, God willing.’’ According to an eyewitness account, the gunmen numbering about 10, arrived the police station at about 9.30 pm and launched an attack on the policemen on duty.
