peaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, yesterday told President Goodluck Jonathan that reports coming from the House committees currently on oversight function to ascertain the level of implementation of the 2012 budget were unimpressive. The Speaker in his Vote of Thanks after Jonathan’s presentation of the 2013 appropriation estimates to the joint session of the National Assembly said: “As I speak, interim field oversight reports from House Committees on the 2012 budget implementation are clearly unimpressive both in terms of releases as well as utilization and this is a great challenge to all of us. “It is important to state at this point the clear provisions of Section 8 of the Appropriation Act to the effect that approved budgeted funds shall be released to MDAs “as at when due”. resident Goodluck Jonathan yesterday presented a N4.92 trillion budget for the 2013 fiscal year to the joint session of the National Assembly even as he is now at logger heads with the House of Representatives over the appropriate oil sale benchmark for the budget. The N4.92 trillion 2013
