wo infants were confirmed to be among 13 people killed yesterday when two buildings-one in Lagos and the other Kaduna-collapsed. While a six-month old baby was listed among the dead in the building collapse in Lagos, a four-day old infant also lost his life in the Kaduna incident. The body of the six-month old baby was one of those that were recovered from the debris of a 3-storey building which collapsed on 29B Oloto Street in Ebutte Meta area of Lagos, Lagos state yesterday. Although some sources at the scene of the incident in Lagos told one of our correspondents that only seven dead bodies were recovered, a BBC Hausa service correspondent in the city reported other eyewitnesses as saying those who died in the Contd. on Page 2

he Yobe state government yesterday announced plans to relocate students of Government Secondary School Mamudo, which was attacked by unknown gunmen last Sunday, to a new boarding school built by the Gaidam administration. No fewer than 22 students and a teacher were officially confirmed killed when the gunmen invaded the school at about 3.00am on Sunday. The Yobe commissioner for education, Alhaji Mohammed Laminate said Governor Ibrahim Gaidam will soon set up a committee to look at the secondary education sector and propose ways to better protect staff and Contd. on Page 2
