he Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday grilled immediate past governor of Kwara state, Dr. Bukola Saraki for several hours at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja. Peoples Daily findings at the EFCC revealed that Saraki, who now represents Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was questioned over, among others, allegations of misappropriation of funds during his tenure as governor of Kwara state. Our findings showed further that the senator, who voluntary turned himself in at the anti-graft body’s office after returning from lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia, following an earlier invitation extended to him by the commission, may also have been questioned over his role in some transactions in the defunct Societe Generale Bank Nigeria (SGBN) Limited, where he served as executive director.
