Jonathan, govs close ranks

T
here are indications last night that the ongoing reconciliation meeting
between President Olusegun Obasanjo and governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would find a ‘workable solution’ to the lingering crises
bedeviling the ruling party. That ‘workable solution’, according to our findings, would compel both President Goodluck Jonathan and the governors,
especially the seven ‘revolting ones’, making various compromises, so that peace will reign in the party. It will be recalled that Obasanjo met Monday night in
the Presidential Villa in Abuja with most of the PDP governors to find a lasting solution to the crises in the ruling party, part of which has Contd. on Page 2

Nigeria jinxed, cursed, says Obasanjo From Inumidun Ojelade, Ibadan

ormer President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday took a swipe at the younger
generation of leaders in the country over poor performance records, integrity and probity, saying with such unfortunate developments, Nigeria is jinxed, and even cursed.
“It is sad that after 53 years of independence, we have no leader that we can commend. Then we are jinxed and cursed; we should all go to hell.
“The problem in Africa is that when one person takes over, he would not see any good thing that his predecessor did. Let us condemn but with caution”,
Obasanjo said while delivering a lecture in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. The former president was Contd. on Page 2
