resident Goodluck Jonathan yesterday spoke tongue in cheek over the fate of the embattled Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Maina accused by the Senate of corruption in the management of pension funds. In one breath, the president denied supporting the controversial Maina to shun the Senate while in another, he subtly shielded him from the Senate query. The Upper Chamber had in a plenary presided over by Senate President, David Mark on Wednesday given the President two days to sack Maina from the civil service or face the wrath of the lawmakers. Maina has incurred the wrath of the Senate for allegedly shunning repeated invitations forwarded to him to answer series of allegations of fraud against his name. President Jonathan however argued that the fate of Maina could only be decided based on laid down civil service rule.
