power outage yesterday left over 50 airport users, including air passengers, trapped lifts at the international wing of the
Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. This happened few weeks after electricity supply to the international terminal and runways at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport,
Abuja, went off long enough to prevent aircraft from landing. The incident sparked outrage at the National Assembly which summoned the supervising aviation minister to explain why it
happened. The Lagos incident which occurred as a result of the power seizure by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) and the inability of the backup generating sets to work
