orrential rain yesterday destroyed no fewer than 100 houses and displaced thousands of residents of Talata Mafara town in Zamfara state. A British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa service report monitored last night in Abuja said, the heavy rainfall, which started Saturday night continued up to early hours of yesterday. The report said most of the displaced persons had to quit the destroyed houses and were taking refuge in mosques and schools in the town.
