ension was doused yesterday as the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Baman ga Tukur, survived removal plot at the National Executive Committee (NEC). This is coming as the PDP NEC passed a vote of confidence on President Goodluck Jonathan for his performance in the last two years that he has been in the saddle as the head of the executive arm of government. The vote of confidence motion was moved by the former Senate President, Senator Ibrahim Mantu. Tukur had recently come under severe attacks following the suspension of the Rivers state governor and a factional Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Rt. Hon.
