head of the 2015 Presidential election, there are indications that President Goodluck Jonathan has perfected strategy to take over the control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to pave way for his nomination as the party’s candidate. This is coming as the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has equally begun to make surreptitious moves to neutralize the awesome influence of the PDP governors in his National Working Committee (NWC). A source within the Presidency told Peoples Daily that Jonathan has recalled the nation’s High Commissioner to Canada, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, to head a newly created Crisis Management Desk in the Presidency. Maduekwe, according to the source, would be assisted by Professor Jerry Gana who heads of the committee set up to clean up the membership of the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT). Both stakeholders are to be assisted by Senators Ibrahim Mantu and Jonathan Zwingina. Interestingly, the foursome played significant roles in the failed third term agenda of the then President Olusegun Obasanjo. Ado Bayero flown to London, three arrested From Edwin Olofu, Kano

he Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, who was attacked by unknown gunmen on Saturday, has been flown to London for medical attention. This is just as news filtered out
yesterday afternoon that three persons have been arrested in connection with the attack that left not fewer than six people dead. The Emir’s departure to London at about 1.35 pm yesterday was witnessed by the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr.
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Islamic scholars and some top government officials. It was learnt that the traditional ruler needed medical attention as he may have sustained some injuries from glass shrapnel in the attack.
In an interview with reporters at the airport, Kano state Deputy Governor confirmed that some arrest had been made by the security agencies, and investigations have commenced over the attack. Security source in Kano
