T

he Federal Government has released a list of successful bidders that crossed the evaluation stage for the Kaduna Distribution Company and Afam Generation Company.

Both companies will now move on to a commercial bidding process that will be televised nationwide. This was one of the outcome of the meeting of the National Council on Privatization (NCP) presided over by Vice President, Muhammad Namadi Sambo

T

he Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday suspended Rotimi Amaechi, the embattled governor of Rivers state and the winner of the controversial Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) chairmanship election last weekend. The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, explained that his suspension became inevitable following his refusal to obey the directive of the Rivers State Executive Committee to rescind his decision dissolving the elected Executive Council of Obiokpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The governor in his response to his suspension by the PDP alleged that it was a witch-hunt. Amaechi, who responded to his suspension in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the NWC issued a Press Statement to suspend him without any invitation and fair hearing. “I was not invited by the National Working Committee of PDP, I was not given fair hearing.
