rouble seems not yet over for the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, as he faces a fresh challenge for his removal at an Abuja High Court chaired by Justice Suleiman Belgore today. Tukur had last week had a sigh of relief when the same judge declined the request of his traducers, who are also chieftains of the ruling party, to stop him from parading himself as the national chairman of the party. Justice Belgore will today entertain an amended motion by the trio of Abba Yale, Yahaya Aruwa Sule and Bashir Maidugu, seeking the sack of the PDP chairman alongside the acting members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). They are equally asking the court to order fresh elections into all offices of the party’s NWC. They are insisting that Tukur should not continue in office as the party’s national chairman since all other members of the NWC have resigned their positions. The same judge had last week ordered the halt of the Special National Convention of the PDP slated for August 31, 2013, to elect replacement for the NWC members who resigned their positions due to alleged irregularities in the process that brought them into power by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Responding to the court ruling halting the Special National Convention, the PDP in a statement signed by its acting National Publicity Secretary, Prince Caesar Okeke, at the weekend stated that: “Nevertheless, our Contd. on Page 2
