Benue journalists laud Akume’s appointment as SGF JAMB warns public against recruitment fraudsters

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned the genes public against unwholesome activities of an employment syndicate operating in Akure, Ondo State, which claims to have been contracted to recruit staff for the Board using a dedicated social media account.

This was made known by the Acting Director Public Affairs, Fabian Benjamin in a statement in Abuja.
The board enjoined t members of the public to disregard such information as it is currently not recruiting in any of its offices nor has it contracted anyone or organisation to do so on its behalf.
It reads,” The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been drawn to the unwholesome activities of an employment syndicate operating in Akure, Ondo State, which claims to have been contracted to recruit staff for the Board using a dedicated social media account.
“The syndicate, operating under “Akure Job and Business Advert Forum”, located at Quarters 92 Alagbaka Estate, Near CBN Office, IBB Avenue, Akure, Ondo State, is using the name of JAMB, Ondo State Office, to advertise job vacancies into secretarial and clerical positions in the Board.
“The Board, is by this disclaimer, advising all members of the public to disregard such information as it is currently not recruiting in any of its offices nor has it contracted anyone or organisation to do so on its behalf. Anybody doing business with the above-mentioned platform or similar ones, does so at his/her own risk. Furthermore, stiff legal actions will be taken against anyone found culpable of such nefarious acts.
“Members of the public are, therefore, advised to be wary of the shenanigans of mischief makers out to defraud halpess job seekers as all notifications by the Board are made only through its approved.
The Conference of Benue Journalists (CBJ) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his appointment of Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), describing the choice as a demonstration of expertise in leadership recruitment.
CBJ President, Dr Emmanuel Anule, stated this on Sunday in a congratulatory message to Senator Akume on behalf of the group in Abuja.
Anule said that the President made a perfect decision by picking one of Nigeria’s best for the position.
“The appointment of the former Benue State Governor and Minister, our Illustrious son, was well deserved, considering his excellent pedigree, antecedents, and knowledge in public administration.
“The choice of Akume as SGF will undoubtedly assist the President Tinubu-led administration to deliver good governance to Nigerians through its “Renew Hope Agenda.”
“We therefore, commend the president for finding the Tarka-born politician worthy for this appointment. This development has revealed that this administration is prepared to uphold the democratic principles of inclusivity.
“ Let me therefore, on behalf of the entire CBJ members across the country congratulate Senator George Akume on his appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Accept our best wishes,” he said.

Kano governor appoints Accountant-General, 4 heads of agencies

Kano state governor, Abba Yusuf has appointed Abdulkadir Abdussalam as the new Accountant General of the state.
This is contained in a statement by Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa yesterday.
He said the governor had also appointed Garba AhmedBichi as the new Managing
Director of Kano State Water Board.
Yusuf, according to the statement, had appointed Dr. Rahila Mukhtar as Executive Secretary, Kano State Healthcare Contributory Management Agency, KCHMA.
Hassan Baba Danbaffa had been appointed as Managing Director, Kano State Road Maintenance Agency, KARMA.
The governor also appointed Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu, Managing Director, Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority, KNUPDA.
Dawakin-Tofa stated that the swearing-in ceremony of the appointees would be announced soon to enable them assume office immediately.
