Hon Mohammed Umar Bago, has reassured that appointments into his cabinet will be based on qualifications and not by favouritism in the state, saying he will be fair and just to all.
Bago stated this through his deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, at a Special Thanksgiving Service to mark their inauguration at St. Michael Catholic Cathedral Church, Minna.
He said, “We will be fair and just to all persons in the state, but please put us in your prayers. We will appoint and engage only those who merit it. I can assure you this, our appointment will not be based on favoritism but on merit”.
Bago also called on Christians in the state to continue to pray for security agencies confronting bandits and other vices, while urging citizens to be security conscious at all times.
The Governor further assured that his administration will revisit the call for the re-introduction of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) across schools in the state, which will go a long way in affecting the morals of children positively.
Earlier, during the homily, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna had called on the Governor to reintroduce CRK in schools across the state.
