The Permanent Secretary, FCT Administration, Olusade Adesola has directed officials of Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) otherwise known as Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) to rise to the challenge posed by drivers of vehicles without appropriate plate numbers, as such menace contravenes the traffic regulations of the Territory.
Adesola particularly declared that henceforth, the FCT Administration will arrest and impound vehicles without plate numbers in the Territory. He spoke during the unveiling of the Online Vehicle and License Registration Portal held at the FCDA Conference Hall, Central Business District, Abuja.
According to a statement, Director, Information & Communication, FCT, Muhammad Hazat Sule, the Permanent Secretary noted that the e-process will drastically curb incidences of touting, racketeering and other unpleasant practices that negatively affect the integrity of the process and database of the FCT motor-vehicle registration.
FCT administration will always go for the best to make the aesthetic of Abuja a world class one.
He described the take off of the company as very impressive considering the quality of product that the firm produces.
“AFP has been a major partner in the development of the city, it is well known for producing high quality furniture over the years. So, we want it to compliment government’s efforts “.
“This is what the administration has been looking for, a situation whereby people can come in with a lot of commitment to the city and also provide the necessary services that will compliment the efforts of government by ensuring that Abuja becomes one of the 20th habitable city in the world.
“The government has made a lot of efforts to ensure that the aesthetic of the city is respected, when we have outfits that contribute to the development of the city, respecting the laws and also requirements of the master plan, it is also help”, he stressed.
On his part, AFP General Manager, Oliver Cohnen said the company which is an arm of Julius Berger has been using furniture for over 30 years, which the services cover all categories of people, would keep to the standards.
