he 51-year-old Patterson Furniture Company, founded in 1961 by the owners’ grandparents and their mother, has from inception insisted on quality and service as fundamental operating principles. Spoken with equal parts pride and knowledge, Sealy explains in intricate detail the construction methods employed by Stickley craftsmen and craftswomen to build pieces of
furniture that “become family heirlooms the day they are bought.” Sealy explains how the most recent Stickley line, the “Finger Lakes” collection, is ideally suited for the Southern Appalachian style that has been adopted in North Georgia. “Every piece in this collection wants to co-exist with timber and stone in large rooms with high ceilings and natural
views,” says Sealy. Stickley has created the line with flexibility of finishes that allows the purchaser to choose among rustic distress, light distress and no distress of the solid wild American cherry wood from which the pieces are constructed.
