April 2012 Fellow Rotarian, Club President and District Governor. I write you today with a rather unusual request: fellow Rotarian and Rotary Club of Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (District 2450) Board Member and New Generations Service Director, David Wernery, and his wife, Theresa, are about to embark on Stage 1 of their global expedition. They are raising awareness about plastic pollution from the UAE to the rest of the world (please find attached information and visit their website site at www.pnsfexpedition.com). Rotarian David has set up a Rotary Community Corps in Dubai to engage the community in caring and protecting for the environment. Rtn. David is keen to engage, on his road trip, as many Rotary Clubs as possible. He would be happy to meet and give a brief presentation about the campaign at Rotary, Rotaract and Interact meetings, thus making the campaign and trip an Expedition together with Rotary International. He and his wife have my full support and that of his home club and Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in the United Arab Emirates. I would kindly ask you to take up their cause and inform other Clubs in your District that they will be passing through (see attached rough itinerary) and ask if they are willing and have the time to welcome him and his wife.
