Hey Bumblebees! Summer is right around the corner, and many of you are probably day-dreaming about sleeping in until 3pm, or going on a crazy, adventurous day outdoors. Even though summer may be a break from school, service never rests! With some free time in your hands, now is YOUR chance to explore different types of volunteering, and become more involved in the Division! Officers- please spend these few months as a to plan for the upcoming year! Talk about what went well , and what needs to be improved for next year. Your reports are still due over the summer, and please keep in mind that Officer Training will take place in late summer or beginning of the school year! It is mandatory for you to attend, and will be the time to clear up any questions that you had about your duties, and receive necessary training for the upcoming school year. All of you have done some amazing things this past school year, whether it be that you’ve gotten good grades or overcame personal challenges. Monroe High School Key Club is currently wrapping up their school year by planning the first meeting of the 2015-2016 school year in the fall! We are very excited to see how our club and each member in it can grow this coming year! Our club recently attended the May DCM before Dance to Eliminate and had a great time making blankets for hospice!
Kamiak Key Club had a productive month in May. We concentrated our main efforts on helping elementary schools. Kamiak helped out at the Mukilteo carnival, Serene Lake carnival, and Columbia carnival. On May 27, Kamiak Key Club held its end of the year ice cream celebration. It was a satisfying way to end a great year. 16
In order to raise awareness for Eliminate Week, we decided to sell Dr. Pepper floats after school, selling them each for $1.80. We made around $200, and it had a noticeable impact on raising awareness for tetanus in 3rd world countries. W
