A WORD FROM YOUR

Lieutenant Governor DIVISION 21 | PNW

Hello Division 21 Bumblebees! Congratulations to all clubs for successfully holding their first meeting of the school year! From what I have heard, all clubs had a great turnout at their first meetings! It makes me so happy and proud that you are all actively promoting Key Club in your schools! You all make me so excited to see what projects and events your clubs will be participating in this year! If you didn’t already know, I have been making personalized club flyers for clubs interested in having exclusive flyers for their club to use in addition to the “Why Should I Join Key Club?” flyers I distributed at the officer training! The flyers are a great resource to use for your hallways or tri-folds for club fairs because they are sure to grab people’s attention! If there are any additional resources you are interested in having for your club, such as how to make a promotional Key Club cut out or anything you’ve always wanted for your club, please let me know! I will either find or make the resource for you myself! I may not make your suggestion as perfectly as you would want them but I will try my best! Also, since it is now October, do you know what that means?.. TRICK OR TREAT FOR UNICEF! Trick or Treat for UNICEF is a GREAT fundraiser to participate in to help raise money for one of the Key Club preferred charities, UNICEF! It is also a great bonding activity for your members to do with each other! Division 21 raised around $150 last year and I would like to challenge the division to raise $300 this year! So will your club accept the challenge? BEE sure to attend the next DCM as well to meet other members in Division 21 Key Club and to ask me any questions you have! I am at your service! Good luck to all clubs with your service events this month! Remember to LEAD by EXAMPLE.

If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! With Love & Service,

Selina Nguyen

PNW Lieutenant Governor of Division 21 Key Club

A WORD FROM YOUR DIVISIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD DIVISION 21 | PNW

“Bumblebees! Are you guys wanting to go trick or treating but are contemplating on it since your neighbors think we're too old for it? Well you're in luck, because Trick or Treat for UNICEF is coming up! Make your night eventful with service AND fun! Also, please start collecting items for the Operation Christmas Child for the November DCM! It’s going to be so much fun!” – Jessica Bae, Divisional Executive Assistant “Hey Key Clubbers, How do you feel?!?!??! If you just started to yell out loud inside of your house and everyone is looking at you, then congratulations! You’re a true bee!! Anyway, I hope you’re all doing well, and that your clubs are off to a great start!! I wanted to let you all know that the October DCM is on October 25th at the Mill Creek YMCA from 12pm-2pm! Also, Halloween is coming up and this is a great time to raise money for UNICEF! The “Trick or Treat” for UNICEF fundraiser is really fun! I love seeing people doing it, especially when the person at the door is looking at you all weird, wondering who the heck you are. But never fear, because a Key Clubber just keeps smiling back at whomever is at the door, and after about 15 minuets of staring, the UNICEF donation is finally received! Just kidding. But you should definitely participate in this projec this year if you have never done so! Anyway, I have homework, and you do too! So lets all get back to that, and I’ll see you all soon!! Stay safe, and eat more ice cream! “ – Kohta Hansen, Divisional Executive Assistant “Hello Division 21 Key Clubbers! Halloween is coming up which mean Trick or Treat for UNICEF is coming up as well! One way you can collect coins is by leaving it at a guardian's work place and have them ask from donations from their coworkers or their customers. Make sure to ask for permission first! Also in November there will be an Operation Christmas Child event. Collect items for that early! Lastly form more committees for your Key Club! It gives more chances for more members to lead! That is all for this month, have a great one!” – Thinh Do, Divisional Secretary

On September 13th, we had our very first event of the year! This was an event for incoming members that were interested in joining Key Club. The Child Strive Carnival was a carnival for children with special needs. Our members had a great time not only meeting each other, but meeting others in our community! I can’t wait to witness the growth of Jackson Key Club this year! – Vania Park

WEEKLY SWIM MEETS

HE CAMPUS CLEAN UP

Every year at the Kamiak vs. Mariner football game, the Key Clubs team up and collect donations for a different charity. This year, about 35 volunteers from both Kamiak and Mariner collected money for the Mukilteo Food Bank and raised $369.50! This is always one of my favorite service events because it brings the “rivals” together to do something that we’re all passionate about… Service! – Marissa Perez, Co President

We had the biggest turnout at our first and second meeting that I have ever seen in all my years in Lake Stevens Key Club. Everyone at our club is signing up for events and is excited to serve! All of our officers are really excited to see what impact we can make as a large club this year. – Courtney Ann Klein, Treasurer Our first big event is going on now! It is our Cinderella and Cinderella's closet for donating clothes for homecoming. We are working hard to prepare!

MAKE A BLANKET DAY!

On September 20th, we had our second car wash to fundraise for our club! For four straight hours, we diligently worked together to wash cars! It was awesome! Throughout the car wash, we bonded with each other and even played around by spraying each other with water. In the end, the car wash was very successful and we raised over $300! – James Lee

Let’s see how many of these goals we can accomplish collectively as a division and check off this year Division 21!

WHAT IS A

DCM?

A Division Council Meeting, or DCM, is scheduled by your Lt. Governor once a month to accommodate all Key Club members in a division. DCMs are meant to bring members in the division together to share ideas, gain new resources and make new connections. Typically, the meetings will move around in the division so that all clubs will be able to participate.

TRAIN CLUB OFFICERS

LEARN THE DUTIES OF EACH POSITION | SHARE IDEAS | GET ADVICE & TIPS

LEARN MORE ABOUT SERVICE SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS | FUNDRAISERS | RESOURCES

DEVELOP A PASSION

GET INSPIRED | CONNECT WITH OTHERS | BE MOTIVATED

SPREAD THE SPIRIT EXPERIENCE THE PASSION| SPIRIT BATTLES | INCLUSIVENESS

BUILD BONDS

MAKE NEW FRIENDS | BREAK BARRIERS | WORK TOGETHER

You should attend DCMs because it’s a great way to meet Key Clubbers within the division, get out of your comfort zone and experience what it’s like to be a part of something bigger than your club! DCMs are also SUPER FUN so don’t miss out on the experience!
