Greetings Division 21 Bumblebees, With the Back to School Train choo-chooing along, I hope that these first few days(or weeks) of school went as smoothly as possible for you! For many of you, when someone asks “Why did you join Key Club?”, perhaps it’s because of the volunteer hours, an upperclassmen friend, or wanting to try new things. For a few of you, it may have even been to check out if the club really made keys. Whatever the reason may be, I hope that your Key Club journey have been truly amazing. Key Club literally changed my life in ways I thought impossible; though it may sound a little cliché , through helping others I was inspired to strive to become a genuine, caring servant leader. This September, share your love and passion to serve by promoting Key Club at your school and recruiting more members! Be THAT upperclassmen friend that inspired you! Whatever your method may be, your enthusiasm will show and make others want to have as much fun My job is to assist you in whatever way possible, as much as possible. So whether it be that you need more ideas on service projects or just need someone to talk to, please don’t be afraid to contact me! ♥ Looking forward to seeing you soon, Jessica Bae 425.248.7258 Jessicabae.pnw21@gmai.com

August DCM: Division
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE AUGUST DCM?
Due to many windstorms and power outages, many of our bumblebees were unable to make it! However, fun awaited those that were able to attend. The bees searched frantically for the golden tickets which will award them with the grand prize: free Chick-fil-A Burger Coupon. Congrats Sammy Chu! The adventure on the trail afterwards gave us some surprises- such as having to climb over trees and looking for “lost Gary- and gave us some fresh air to mentally prepare for the upcoming school year. All in all, it was a fantastic experience! 16

Division 21 Offic
The Officer Training Experience… Vania Park: “Division 21 had their officer training at the Lynnwood Fire Station, where officers from 13 different schools received tips on becoming an officer, improving our home clubs, and much more! The evening first began with a wonderful introduction from all of the officers who attended, the divisional board, and Jessica herself. We then progressed into the specific roles of each
officer and their duties. The PowerPoint was designed into short bulleted points so that Jessica could later go into full detail. This was very helpful when writing down notes because great tips and resources were given! The potluck portion of the night began and everyone got to enjoy their meal(s), converse with their peers, and listen to (overrated) music. My favorite part of the potluck was that I did not have to eat only cookies and chips for dinner (although, that doesn’t sound too bad right now). We then broke off into groups according to our officer positions
and discussed ways that our clubs could improve. I found a lot of similarities within other clubs, which was a relief to know that we were not the only club struggling. Although many of us got off topic (where are my Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise fans at? ), forming a relationship with the other schools allowed us to reach out to one another for future projects and inter clubs (super excited to work with Glacier Peak and Monroe)! The night then concluded with further questions, in which Jessica did a great job of
providing resources. Overall, I came out of the training gaining more than I thought I would! A big factor of this evening was preparing us on how we, the officers, and how you, the club, can improve and continue to grow through the passion of service. As always, thank you to Jessica for filling our brains with useful 18
information!”

On August 31st, Jackson Key Club helped put together welcome bags for incoming freshman students. We were assisting parent volunteers and managed to finish all 600 bags in under 2 hours. The bags contain school contact info for new parents and Jackson Key Club will also be helping pass the bags out on September 8th during freshman welcome day.
