SUMMER SERVICE PROJECTS! HHS Movie Night! Later this Summer, Hockinson High School Key Club plans on holding a movie night for charity. This event will take place in the High School’s MPR (multi purpose room), which houses an HD projection system, and seating for over 400. This event will bring in funding via three different facets: admission sales, concessions, and most interestingly, the “movie polling system”. The Movie Polling System Roughly 15 minutes before the film itself is scheduled to be shown, five donation jars will be set out on a central pedestal, each representing a different film with potential to be shown. At the end of the 15 minute period, the total donation amounts in each jar will be counted, and whichever jar holds the highest dollar value in donations, will have its respective film shown for the event. This system effectively drives people to vote, and also “bid” on which film they’d like to be shown. HHS Key Club hopes to bring in hundreds of dollars in donations from this system alone, in addition to the admission and concession sales. School Bonding The HHS movie night is slated out to occur between the time of orientation, and school starting - and this is a sublime way to bring students together after a long Summer apart. A laid-back event like this is effective in that it allows students to interact and have a fun time in a non-learning environment, rather than in the confines of the actual school year.
