Suspicious ﬁre damages Tacoma ofﬁce building Photo Courtesy Tacoma Fire Department Tacoma firefighters from seven stations responded to reports of a commercial structure fire on Tacoma's East side at approximately 7:01 a.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames pouring out of a single-story office building on the site of a rental storage business located in the 1400 block of East 44th Street. There were no injuries to report. The fire resulted in approximately $62,500 in damages to the building and its contents, according to Tacoma Fire Department spokesperson Joe Meinecke. Meinecke noted the cause of the fire was determined to be intentionally set, and the incident was referred to the Tacoma Police Department for further investigation.
