Baby Island Saratoga Club: BISC is a non-
3 profit organization, a 501(c)3, with the mission of providing scholarships to graduating South Whidbey students through fund-raising events. The Club facility, located at 3616 Saratoga Road in Langley, is a public assembly hall serving the community as a rental. Monthly pot-luck dinner meetings, often with speakers, are held on the second Friday of each month, September through May. The purpose was to assist members in times of illness or need and to uphold Norwegian traditions. Ester Moe Lodge 39 was instituted in 1996 at the Island County Fairgrounds in Langley. The lodge's namesake, Ester Moe, was appointed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt as Postmaster of the Clinton Post Office, where she served for 29 years. Ester Moe Lodge is one of the largest Daughters of Norway lodges in the United States.
