My most memorable moment would have to be in May of 2018. When I was river rafting with my school, the gear raft of our group got stuck on one of the class 3 rapids and we had to work together as a group for a few hours to get it out. The whole group stayed really positive, working together and eventually we got it out. It was a really special experience.
I don’t tend to remember the past because I’m so focused on the present and future, though I loved watching the occasional movie like “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” with friends in the dorm.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
I see myself working with kids that have learning disabilities, advocating for kids struggling in the same ways I have. I hope to help the education system decrease the isolation kids feel and value their minds for the unique way they work.
If there is one thing I learned this year, it is that my answer to this question will be wrong. That being said, right now I think that working for NOAA or the Department of Fish and Wildlife in the PNW would be cool.

In 10 years, I see myself working as a pediatrician in my home country, India. I see myself being a part of many NGOs, and even starting my own, to help serve every child in my country with the health care they deserve.
Continuing the pursuit of equality and justice for all. Being the same strong, smartass feminist that I am today.

The most memorable moment for me was when I realized the expanses of life I have yet to discover. That moment of realization helped me enjoy flowing with the ups and downs of high school and soak every experience in positively!
I learned that the best trust is the one that is earned, and when others break that trust, it is difficult to restore. I learned to believe in myself and that karma will set everything right.

The state of Washington graciously funded my education at SVC. I discovered interests that I didn’t know I had within my studies here. Additionally, I was able to practice time management and self-discipline.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
There are very small class sizes, which makes learning interactive. The instructors know everyone on a personal level and are very passionate about their jobs. They recognize that learning isn’t a one-way street, and the inclusion of every student is important to the health of the whole class. Monetarily, Running Start enabled me to complete my general education requirements for a degree in engineering while in high school. The San Juan Center has been a great catalyst for curiosity and college study habits.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A COMMUNITY COLLEGE? Skagit Valley College made getting my two year degree affordable. I was able to take online classes in order to keep up with my busy life as well as have some class time at the San Juan Campus. I took several different classes and learned a lot! It has helped me stay accountable and has showed me what I am capable of. It has been a pleasure getting support from the teachers and staff.
