HELLO, My name is Chanchal Poddar, did my B. ARCH from Vastu Kala Academy (2010-2015) and currently working as Project Architect at Creative Group Architects, New Delhi since the past 3 years. Being from a Typical Bengali background, I was brought up with an eye for Art, Graphics, Music and Specifically Details. My father with a Background in Civil construction naturally made me more inclined toward construction and buildings since an early age, and my personal attachment towards Art and Design brought me into the field of Archtecture; a vast scope for everything from understanding how a modern day technology functions to as specific as how wind flows. Architecture has been fun since I started the journey with learnings everyday and a lot of Problem solving along the Road. This portfolio consists of a few sample works with which i have been involved be it Design, Management or Construction oriented over the years. Looking forward to hearing from your Esteemed company and have a associated journey towards new learnings. THANKS.
“A Good Design is not only good by it’s visualisation but is also decided by it’s contribution to context and surroundings”.

Winners of Best Hospitality Project of the Year Times Square Mall, Raipur 2017 Times Square Shopping Mall is a design project for an entire micro-urbanism. Spreading across an area of 8100 square metres, the identities of the mall, both as a commercial space & a sustainable complex are understood to be symbols projected onto the administrative capital of the State of Chhattisgarh representing Naya Raipur as India’s fourth prosperous & planned smart city. A Mall, being a commercial building, requires a critical approach towards positioning, zoning & magnetic aspects. After a deep insight towards these critical factors, Creative Group took forward the planning & design of a mall with a sustainable & charismatic approach which pleases not just the client but also the visitor. It is aptly placed around the administrative buildings in the vicinity serving as a landmark and a turning point for the otherwise structured building envelopes. The commercial built-form has a dynamic complex so that the building facade changes at every viewing angle. The helical form of the building emerges from the ground floor, as if originating from the surrounding landscape. The design creates open spaces and terraces with the view of providing maximum commercial viability. Food and beverages are provided on the ground -floor. Shaded courtyards in the centre create recreational relaxing spaces.

Bilaspur Rama Group 400 Acres Master Plan & Comprehensive Architecture, MEP & Structure Engineering services
As the proposed site came under the high pollution zone, a sustainable and green approach was required as a large number of vehicles and industries pollutes the zone, day and night. The site has very haphazard boundaries, bottle necks, and irrigation canals which made the architects and planners to go through a thorough research
The prime consideration of the design process is the connectivity of one neighbourhood with another using subways as pedestrian and cyclable pathways, segregating the traffic absolutely. The organised green needs to be developed with sensitivity, so it becomes a children friendly space. Outdoor quality of space provides healthy interactive social spaces which enhance the quality of space, further enhancing the quality of life and environment.
Energy Efficient ‘MINICITY’
work. On site, a 24m wide road passes through the site which bisects the entire site and hence challenged the architect to find a way out to merge the new axis with the overall concept. Low lying lands and higher lands are zoned as a biodiversity park and residential zone respectively.
A green spine or the ceremonial axis is the main eye catching epicentre of the township which is also the lifeline of the development as it comprise of three sectorial parts which are Sports, Commercial and Recreation .
The natural resources shall also be conserved and most of it recycled. Solid waste management in terms of sewage treatment, effluent treatment, restoration of water, production of energy through non-conventional means, waste to energy, are some of the prime consideration adopted in MiniCity of Bilaspur making it one of the exclusive Indian sustainable smart cities of tomorrow.
