We missed not being able to meet in events, or simply for a good windsurfing session with our friends around the world, but what we did not do, was to stay home and wait. We took advantage to spend more time on the water and continue our development. Invested in new innovation and performance to our products to get you more addicted to windsurfing and Point-7. Zero21 is now online ready and available for you to enjoy! It was once again a pleasure to work with our Point-7 Black Team to bring the latest experience to our products. Foiling has become more popular over the last years and more specific gear has been developed. We have introduced for this new discipline our F1 line. F1 Fw for upwind racing, F1 Sl for slalom racing and the newest F1e. The ‘e’ version is our hybrid fin\foil line. You can use them for wind foiling in less than 15 knots, and over 13 knots you can use them for windsurfing: a smart solution for those who want to enjoy both disciplines without having to buy double rigs. After the success of the QR harness lines, we have developed the Vario version as you have asked us to do. A new line of extension carbon extension is now available with a new inverted pulley system rolls, making threading simpler, and down hauling. This new pulley system has also been assembled on the newest alu extensions. This way you will have the choice of 2 pulley systems during your purchases. A new boom head is now applied to our carbon booms, making the head more stable on the mast, and distributing better the pressure on it. Our masts have upgraded their finish and performance. For those who look to be standing out even more, we are offering our sails in exclusive 7548 yellow. Creating an amazing contrast with the Black Tinted window, this unique monofilm colour, will be hard to be un-noticed on the water from revealing its dark force. All our Ply, X-ply and Scrim monofilm are produced in the Unites States including the new 7548 Yellow. The less the transparent the monofilm, the more they will last in the sun. Just like our Black, our new Yellow monofilm, is also not transparent, and darker the colour the longer it will shield the material from the UV rays. What damages the monofilm is not the heat, but the UV-Rays. These go through the monofilm, cooking the material, with the result that it will become stiffer and brittle. Our monofilm is built in layers with inside the coloured anti UV glue, which blocks completely the UV rays, compared to transparent monofilm.

If you will leave one of our sails on the grass, against a normal monofilm sail, you will notice how our sail will protect the grass, while the transparent monofilm sail will just allow the UV-rays to use the monofilm as lenses and burn the grass. The Dacron panel stretches to increase power in light wind, absorb impacts from landings and hard conditions. Neutralizes during the wave sailing from its on-off nature.

The top part of the luff built in Xply locks the profile, keeping the sail highly reactive. The power exactly focuses where the stance of our body is comfortably centered. This allows light back hand pressure for pushing on the fin.
The deep Dacron lower profile absorbs the chop & waves, allowing more control, enabling a higher average speed. The Dacron will create a deeper profile for lighter wind and give the extra power and acceleration, plus a comfortable drive through jibe.
Small head for less drag but closed to keep the winglet effect. A negative leach to enjoy a light feeling on the back hand, extra speed, and acceleration. As the wind increases, the sail will automatically self-adjust its power, thanks to the S-Shaping, along the whole middle leach opening.
The eyelet positioning is positioned to tension the leech with right pressure. A bigger cut out than a normal freeride sail, has been introduced allowing more S-shaping release as the wind and speed increases through the foil.

THE F1 LINES THE FOIL AND HYBRID SERIES Foiling has become more popular over the last years and more specific gear has been developed. We had waited to present our first foil range to be sure that to develop sails that would fit the trends of the market, as rules kept changing in the racing and foils were quickly evolving. For 2021 we are introducing our F1 line. Taking the Code 285_Blue, developing it over our Point-823_Code Black, to differentiate the new Wind Foil & Hybrid line from our Windsurfing fin line. We have developed a full foil series called the F1 only for foiling, and a Hybrid series called the F1e for both foil and fin. THE F1 SPLITS IN TWO LINES. THE F1 FW AND THE F1 SL. The F1 Fw for upwinddownwind racing (Size: 10 and 9), the F1 SL for slalom racing (Size: 9.0, 7.7, 6.7). They target pure racing needs and are both dedicate for the 2 different discipline. It’s not a hybrid sail, as in racing you cannot have a compromise for fin or foil. The F1e real hybrid sail. The right compromise for foiling or going on a fin. Developed in 2 different sizes for 2 different target groups. The outline is high aspect.
Over the boom the mast sleeves narrows down a lot to have a lighter weight feeling, less extra downforce and better maneuverability when flying.
The original front deep profile from the AC-One is kept the same. The mast sleeve is kept wide under the boom for maximum stability and drive in light wind.
Shorter lower base, cut to fit fast jibing, and sailing also with a normal fin and slalom board.

THE NEW
‘S GENERATION
HIGH QUALITY WINDSURFING MASTS ARE MAINLY MANUFACTURED IN ITALY. OUR SUPPLIER IS BASED IN ITALY AND PRODUCES IN ITALY. Most of the masts might look the same, but often produced by different manufactures with different machinery, materials, and technology. The mast is a very important accessory for our rig. It’s the back bone of your windsurfing sail. The same as having a suit tailor made. A large 9m slalom sail have different qualities and performance characteristics from a 5m slalom sail which is used in strong wind. The curve and stiffness of the mast needs to be developed accordingly. Our curves are progressive, and each mast length has a specific curve to work best in that specific condition. Shorter mast lengths are having softer bases and stiffer tops to guarantee comfort and stability, longer mast lengths are stiffer in the base and softer in the top to give more power in light winds and breathing of the sail.

SDM-S: STANDARD DIAMETER-SONIC ‘S’ for sonic to our SDM mast. a new construction increases the reflex on the winglet area of the sail, giving more control and stability to the sail. K100, K80 and K60, to cover 3 carbon % gradients. The K100 will be introducing the 520, 550 and 570 masts for formula foil racing.

After testing with our wave team, the masts, we have discovered that landing hard flat or nosedive jumps, was creating extra stress to the top, where the ferrule would enter it. THE BOOM IS WHAT WE FEEL WITH OUR HANDS WHEN SAILING. IT’S WHAT MAKES US FEEL THE WIND IN THE SAIL. Our priority in Point-7 is to focus on the windsurfing rig and make it a winning rig no matter the discipline. There is no dispersion of energy in no other product or sport. This has been proved by winning many Pwa titles in the different disciplines. Some booms might look the same, some can be lighter or stiffer than others, but the most the important characteristics is the reflex. It can make a sail feel light or heavy, powerful, or more comfortable. The reflex needs to vary according to sail size and conditions. A 220-racing boom, cannot have the same structure of a 140-wave boom. Just like the masts, the synergy between the boom and mast is very important. What is sometimes discussed by looking at a product on the beach, might not be bringing the same result once taken to the water and put under pressure. An aluminum boom doesn’t just need to be a good price, a carbon boom doesn’t just have to feel light and stiff. There is a lot more behind the boom and its features, most importantly: comfort, performance, and safety. NEW BOOM HEAD The New Boom head is made to bring a stronger connection to the mast with less stress on the mast. To achieve this, the new longer cup gripping the mast dilutes the stress on to the mast structure, increasing the stability of the connection. This will also assure that the head will not slip down the mast. A perfect composite, which includes glass to the plastic, will donate the correct synergy to the stiffness of the carbon tubes arms, different to each boom size. Easy automatic fitting to the mast. The clamp holding on the boom arms can tilt according to boom height setting. It has 3 screws to secure it on the boom, allowing the one of the leverage to be independent in order to make the opening and closure of the clamp easy, but at the same time the head and the boom to be fully tighten to the max.
The best grip and prestretched rope is given to make sure that the boom does not lose the pressure given to it while clamping. The rope is entering a comfortable cleat, easy to set and fasten.

DEVELOPMENT The first target from the Point-7 Black Team when developing a boom is the curve. This is not about having a curve from the new generation as many might call it. It’s about having a curve which allows your front and back arm to sit in a natural ergonomic position while sailing, automatically positioning the sail at the right angle for the wind to enter and exit the sail. This position varies with the wind strength and windsurfing discipline, so each boom size needs to be developed accordingly.

STIFFNESS The stiffness of an alu boom needs to control the gusts as they hit the sail, and not just flex. Although we cannot expect the same stiffness as from a carbon boom, we can alter the tube diameter. By choosing a boom size which will comfortably fit the sail size, you will enjoy the performance of an alu boom.

INNOVATIVE QUICK RELEASE HARNESS LINES
In case of panic, pull the yellow QR plugs when caught under the sail, or in any emergency situation. The QR lines will immediately release from the harness straps, and set free the harness hook.
Have different QR lines lengths, and change the lengths according to who will use them in the family. If conditions change, if the same boom is used for different sail sizes, you can easily change length of the QR lines, without having to have the standard Vario-lines which wear out with time.
QR - Not only the harness straps can be placed on the boom without taking out the back end, but to fix the QR lines to the QR straps, it takes only few seconds.
